Rita's Road Trip Adventures

Ok I am alive and well! I finally got a chance to post tonight and can you believe this? I'm at a KOA Campground outside Albuquerque, NM sitting in a little cabin writing this. Yes they have wireless....amazing!!! PTL! :)

Well it has been 2 long days of driving but I was really Blessed last night to stay at my friends, Karey and Adam's apartment in Phoenix. It was so great to catch up with them. Well I caught up with Karey first because Adam was working the night shift till 3am at the hospital. So this morning she rolled him out of bed and we were able to have a great convo over pancakes and eggs. Adam is a great cook! :) It was wonderful to see them and I am truely Blessed to have a Brother and Sister take care of me while I was out on the road.

I took off about 1:30 this afternoon and headed to Albuquerque, NM. I logged 589 miles today! It was a beautiful drive through the high desert. I even saw snow on the ground in Flagstaff....thank God it was only raining when I went through. What was so awesome was a rainbow that appeared against the black storm clouds. It's colors were sooo brilliant! I hope my pictures turn out :) Thank you God for your Promise of the Rainbow!

As night fell I stopped off in Gullup, NM for a quick pit-stop. About an hour out of Gullup a coyote ran across the highway in front of me and sure enough I hit it with the left front corner of my car. Every thing was fine, I didn't even spin out, I just plowed through at 75 miles an hour. Poor little guy! :( My front bumper took the brunt of it though. I'm going to have my brother look at it tomorrow morning. Oh yes, my brother, Rob, sister-in-law, Jackie, and my niece, Blakeley are coming in tonight from Woodland Park CO to stay with me! I can't wait to see them. Well I should sign off! The adventures will continue tomorrow.

Friends

Wrote at 5:30am Jan. 15th (couldn't sleep)

Friends are such a Blessing from God and I’ve been blessed a 100 fold by Him! I’m sure Webster has a definition of “friends” in the dictionary and in some languages there are 100’s of different words to describe a friend but here are mine. My friends are amazing people. They have thought me so much about life through good times and bad. They’ve been consolers, sounding boards, and partners in adventure. I’ve laughed and cried, had joy and sadness, been amazed and upset, all with my friends, but through everything that life has given us I can still call them friends! You know they always say you can’t pick your family but you can pick your friends but I always say my friends are my family!

The most amazing gift that they bring me is LOVE!

So THANK you to all my friends! I love you all!
Proverbs 17:17 (New Living Translation)
17 A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.
